I’ve heard a lot of stories of people downsizing into smaller homes over the past few years. Some are even moving into tiny houses and this seems to be a growing trend. Most of the tiny homes I’ve seen are rather unattractive little boxes without much personality. But I came across a site that sells plans for adorable tiny homes called Tumbleeweed Tiny House Company.
You can get yourself a 2/1.5 for under 50K or a 3/1.5 for just 6K more (in materials), provided you build it yourself. This one I’m showing here is one of the larger models, they actually have homes that are under 100sq ft.
The owner of the company really does practice what he preaches, he’s been living in a tiny house since 1997. Here’s more of his story.
The concept seems really cool; less space to clean, no mortgage and lower utility costs. Maybe when we retire we can get one of these, by then we’ll hopefully be seasoned diy’ers and can build it ourselves.
