I was checking out trendhunter, you know for the latest trends. When I came across some long-awaited news (well at least long-awaited for me):

The 2013 Ikea catalogue will be coming out on July 31st.

But that’s not the exciting news, they will also have a brand new interactive app coming out too. It will be available for smartphones and tablets. You’ll get interactive content not seen by the naked eye. In the Trendhunter article they had some cool screen shots of the Ikea Youtube video, so I had some fun and took some of my own. Check them out.

When you see this icon on the page of the 2013 Ikea catalogue, you can use your phone to display hidden interactive content.

You can…

see inside cabinets by waving your phone over them and get storage ideas (my favorite feature)…

get different design ideas, inspiration and ‘looks’ for the same room…

and easily flip through pages as if you were looking through the paper catalogue itself.
