Today I thought I’d share with you the beautiful San Anselmo Bungalow, a home designed by Jute Interiors, which incorporates rustic wood and whites. The whole philosophy behind their work is to create spaces that not only look but also feel natural and welcoming. “Jute composes livable spaces, punctuating them with uncommon accents and singular pieces”.
In this home they used a seamless white background which lets the natural beauty of the rustic wood show through, with subtle hints of warm yellow throughout .
My favorite part of this room is the wood beams on the ceiling. The warmth of the wood keeps the white room from looking too institutional and cold.
What a simple yet perfect dining room. Everything from the lemons, the greenery in the vase to the wrinkled table runner make this space so inviting and lived in. Makes me want to sit down and have a meal, the food just has to be amazing in a place like this.
This tile backsplash is so unexpected, it really took me by surprise when I was looking through the photos and first saw it. I thought I was looking at another house. But I think it works really well in this home, it brings together the bits of yellow scattered throughout the house. And it turns what would otherwise be a plain white kitchen into something spectacular.
I love the look of rustic pieces mixed in with modern ones. For example these wooden tablets and tiny metal sculptures go so well with the clean modern lines of the black frame and white shelf.
I think rustic wood and whites work so well together because neither overwhelms the other, they keep each other in check. The white keeps the wood from overtaking the room and looking too country and the wood keeps the white from becoming too sterile.
