Our Beautiful Thrift Store Chairs

We went to Salvation Army the other day looking for a picture frame for a project I’ve got in mind. And while we didn’t find the frame we did find a pair of gorgeous thrift store chairs for, get this, only $20 for the pair!!!

I spotted these puppies as we were leaving, I fell in love with the shape and the fabric is to die for. I looked around for a price tag but couldn’t find one. I asked the man at the register thinking they would surely be at least $50 each. When he said 20 bucks for the pair I couldn’t believe it. We bought them that same second and popped them in the back of the car. I’m so glad we have and SUV.

Here are our beautiful thrift store chairs in all their glory.

thrift store chairsYou can’t really tell in the pictures, but they’re just the prettiest shade of purple and pink you’ve ever seen.

NOT!!!!

Just kidding! I wish it were April, this would have been a great April Fool’s joke.

The chairs are hideously ugly, filthy, and are in dire need of recovering. But  when I saw them in the store I loved the price and they have good clean lines. I’ve been hunting for chairs to replace our dilapidated love seat for ages and these guys were perfect.

Old loveseat…

old loveseatThe only one using it really was the cat. It’s extra deep, you fall back when you sit on it and the springs are broken. You can see them popping out from the bottom below.

The shape of the chairs reminds me of the Target Slipper Chairs that I’ve been coveting since they came out. But at $150 each they are just not in the budget.

With a few cosmetic changes; fabric and sexy new legs, they’ll be good as new.

What do you think?
