Both my husband and I have large families so when we have them over it gets pretty crowded in here. Even though we have a mammoth sectional, loveseat and six dining room chairs we found that we still needed extra seating. We bought four folding chairs at IKEA a few years ago but had no place to store them. They lived under the bed for a while and then remained in the living room after the last party we had almost a year ago.
We also got four chair cushions to make the seats more comfy. But there were only three on top of the chairs. I looked all over the house for the missing one and I couldn’t find it anywhere.
Found it! After taking the photo I moved the frog painting so I could take the folding chairs out and there it was hiding from me all this time.
While I was cleaning out the guest bedroom the other day I realized there was some great space we were not using that would be perfect for hanging up the folding chairs.
I took the chair hanging hooks that we got at Ikea the other day, which I had first thought to use in the living room, and used them in the closet instead. Each bracket is only wide enough to hold two chairs so looks like were going vertical.
The installation was pretty easy, but I forgot to take photos of the process. So here’s the technical play by pay: Made my marks, drilled the holes, inserted the plastic drywall anchors and hung um up.
The only tricky part was making sure they were in the middle of the space and that they were exactly over one another. Oh, and that they were straight.
There ya go, one less eyesore out of the living room and into its new home.
