Handmade Christmas Gifts

I used to love to shop, it was one of my favorite pastimes years ago. I never really bought expensive things, I was more of a bargain hunter. But bargain or not it still added up. But now, I’m actually repulsed by the thought of having to buy stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I  still love to “window shop”. I love to go to Home Goods, Pottery Barn, Ikea, etc. But I don’t actually buy anything. I just stroll through the aisles and walk right out empty-handed.

After becoming a Dave Ramsey convert and watching countless episodes of Hoaders, I realized just how silly it was to buy so many things. Over the years you purchase and accumulate so many useless things. Now, I know it’s a waste of money and time.

So this year I decided to do things differently, I decided to make handmade christmas gifts. I made the majority of my gifts and the rest I bought from artisans at craft shows, instead of at the department stores. I have always given handmade gifts but not to this extent.

I’ve made a few gifts already and have a few to go. I know, I only have a few days till Christmas, but luckily I won’t be seeing a lot of people until the beginning of the year. So I still have a couple of weeks to make their gifts.

I had quite a few gifts to wrap, but luckily I had my christmas elf cat helping me out.

Here are some of the few handmade christmas gifts I’ve made so far:

I also made my dad a rustic nautical mirror from thrift store find.

NO PEEKING!

You didn’t actually think I was going to let you see what’s inside did you? You’ll just have to wait until after christmas….

Don’t worry I won’t keep you in suspense too long. I’ll post what’s inside and all the tutorials for the gifts and boxes next week. See ya then!

Oh, and Merry Christmas!
