Well this weekend was a Birthday weekend of sorts. My birthday was actually last Tuesday but I’ve been celebrating since the weekend before. I got some great gifts from friends and family, some freebies and a couple of gifts for myself.
Among the freebies was a tree stump. Yay, I’m so happy I finally scored a tree stump!!! I’ve been wanting one for so long now. Some good friends happened to have a few of these lying around their yard and gave me one. How cool is that?
I’m not sure what I’m going to do with it just yet. I’m tempted to leave it outside and use it as a garden seat. But after seeing these really cool tree stump tables, I may just put some legs on it and bring it inside.
We also found these branches last week while walking around the neighborhood. The walking was actually just an excuse to search for the branches. But I needed one in particular to have a specific shape. I’ve got plans for all these branches and several projects in mind.
My cousin gave me a beautiful pair of lanterns for when we have outdoor parties at night. She noticed we didn’t have much light outside. Until the next party, I placed one at the front entry and one in the back garden.
The friends that gave us the tree trunk also had the exact outdoor string lights that I’ve been wanting to put outside in the back garden. I spotted these globe lights about 1 1/2 years on our honeymoon when we went to Napa.
That’s us, this picture still makes me laugh. There was no one else around so I had to set up the camera across the courtyard with the timer. I had to run from other side and try to get here before the timer went off. It took three tries but I was finally able to beat the clock.
I was dying to put them in our back garden, but the ones I found were way outta our prince range, so I waited….
When our friends told us they got them at Kmart for under $10 I was ecstatic.
Here they are. We got two sets, on sale might I add, for only $10 each. They’re 12 ft long with 12 bulbs, that will hopefully be able to span the yard so we can cross them. We’ll probably have to use an extension cord to make it all the way across (hubby suggested using a bright orange one we already had, men…).
Can’t wait to hang them up!
I also got some very cute things for inside the house, check them out here.
