DIY CD/DVD Gift Boxes

finished diy diy dvd box

My husband recently had old home movies from when he was a baby transferred to dvd’s and we decided to give copies as christmas gifts to his family. The dvd and plastic box were very plain, since we made the copies ourselves, so I wanted to spruce them up a bit. So I made custom diy dvd boxes.

I used old shirt gift boxes and wrapping paper to put these together. They were really easy to make. I drew this on a graphics program that I have and can’t for the life of me turn it into a pdf. So I will just have to explain how to draw it by hand.

You could just print this image, but it won’t be the right size.

Just measure your dvd/cd box and add 1/2″ to both widths of the rectangle or square. Draw that on your shirt box. With a compass draw half a circle on each side.

Cut it out and spray glue it to your wrapping paper. When folding the flaps over it helps to use a ruler in order to get a clean fold.

The stickers, I made on word and printed them out on a shipping label paper.

The end result is a cute custom box where the dvd fits in snuggly.
