Sometimes in a small garden every little bit of horizontal space is accounted for. A great solution is space saving planters. Not only do these cool planters save space but they look really neat doing it.
Nope, this picture is not upside down and it’s also not an optical illusion. These cool planters are made by Boskke. They are also available from our friends at Urban-Allotments (UK). As you can see their design is so simple that they fit just as well in a modern garden as in a rustic one.
I like these because they are simple, sleek and do their space saving job well. They are made by Walter and come in three styles to choose from; hanging (not shown), wall and post.
This one’s a throwback to 80′s design. I can swear that we had one just like this in orange in our house when I was little. It was used as a vase if I remember correctly. This is a much more novel way of using it, wish I would of thought of that! It comes in three other colors and is aptly named The Circle Pot. Made by Potted.
I don’t know whats more adorable; the tiny air plants or the mini glass planters. These floating space saving planters were designed by Shane Powers for West Elm. (One of my all time favorite stores, btw).

These space saving modern balcony planters are great solution for small balcony gardeners. They come in such cute colors that I wish I had a balcony, maybe the xl will fit on our wooden fence?! By GreenBo
If you’ve got a ooden deck with a 2×4 or 2×6 railing you can try one of these similar deck planters
These look like they belong on the moon. Even though they don’t save as much space as the others, they are so funky that they extra get points. They are made by a Spanish company appropriately named Solisombra (sun and shade), which also also makes many other ultra cool geometric products for the home and garden.
Hopefully these innovative items will get you thinking outside the box, while coming up with the design for your small garden.
